Let’s play ball! The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and Richmond’s beloved Flying Squirrels are back in town! While we know that sometimes nothing hits quite like stadium food (did we mention this year they are serving hot dogs on giant pickles?!) when you’re at the game, if you’re looking to make a day, or night, of it and grab dinner or drinks at a local restaurant before or after the game, we’ve rounded up some great spots close to The Diamond.

First things first, if you’re headed to The Diamond, the Flying Squirrels have partnered with several locally-owned beverage favorites to bring guests co-branded drinks, including the Cherry Lime Drive from Belle Isle Moonshine, Feelin’ Squirrelly White Wine from New Kent Winery and the Richmond Rally Cap Grapefruit Shandy from Center of the Universe Brewing Company.

Dining Options:

Biscuits & Gravy: Taking over the former Dairy Bar location, this new brunch spot from the team behind Tang & Biscuit is serving the best of both worlds with brunch and late-night eats, including decadent milkshakes that pay homage to the Dairy Bar. Check their Instagram for late-night hours.

Brickhouse Diner: A popular eatery from Midlothian, recently opened a new location along Arthur Ashe Boulevard just North of the Diamond and is a great option for breakfast before those Sunday mid-day games.

En Su Boca: This lively eatery, nestled at the point of Arthur Ashe Boulevard and Myers Street, is perfect for pre-game Tex-Mex or post-game craft brews and cocktails on the patio.

Fat Dragon Chinese Kitchen & Bar: Enjoy traditional Chinese fare with a modern twist before heading to the game when you stop by Fat Dragon. The restaurant also offers a variety of gluten-free and vegan options.

Lunch.Supper!: For a casual pre-game meal with southern flair, head to Lunch.Supper! for an extensive, well-rounded menu sure to suit your entire group, plus a spacious and inviting patio.

Late-Night Funn:

If you’re looking to keep the funn going post-game, The Diamond is perfectly situated for a variety of options. In addition to the numerous breweries in Scott’s Addition, here are some playful options:

River City Roll: This boutique bowling alley and social hub is one of only eight in the country to offer HyperBowling, a new take on the classic game. River City Roll also features live music and an extensive food and beverage program.

Tang & Biscuit: While technically named Tang & Biscuit Shuffleboard Social Club, Tang & Biscuit’s entertainment offerings are varied and vast and extend far beyond shuffleboard and bar games. From DJs to trivia, live music, and more, Tang & Biscuit has something for everyone.

The Park RVA: A food and entertainment hall, The Park RVA offers six restaurants, mini-golf, virtual golf, duckpin bowling, and karaoke in addition to a comedy club and traditional bar offerings.
